At Root & Sol, we believe waste is simply life out of balance. A banana peel isn’t trash; it’s nourishment for your neighbor’s next harvest.
So we built a system that brings food full circle—quietly, powerfully, and with purpose. One bucket at a time, we’re returning nutrients to the earth, restoring balance to our soils, and helping communities improve their health from the ground up. Because in a country where 66 billion tons of food is wasted every year, regeneration isn’t a luxury, it’s a responsibility.

Mission
Root & Sol’s mission is to restore nature’s balance by transforming community food waste into nutrient-rich compost. With today’s produce containing up to 38% fewer nutrients than 50 years ago¹, we’re committed to reviving soil health and growing more nutritious food.
By diverting food waste from landfills, we reduce methane emissions—a greenhouse gas over 28 times more potent than CO₂²—helping our communities fight climate change and breathe cleaner air. We partner with residents, local restaurants, grocers, and growers to empower our community to nourish the earth and provide our children a healthier future.
